Sunday Sing-along: Topsy Turvy

For this Sunday’s sing-along, I bring you a song that is, in my opinion, rather forgotten.  Perhaps that is because The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which premiered in 1996, may be a rather forgotten Disney film.  At least, I forgot about it for many years and if you poll people on their favorite Disney film, Hunchback is unlikely to be up there with The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

That having been said, it is a stellar film.  I love theatrics and this film is nothing, if not theatrical.  The story is dramatic, the songs are high quality, and the characters are memorable.

“Topsy Turvy” is pure entertainment; we are thrown into the crowd as a spectator to an outrageously fun festival.  All the main characters (actually, it may be every character in the film…how’s that for theatrical!) appear in this segment, so if you haven’t seen Hunchback in years, I invite you to reacquaint yourself…and if you haven’t seen it at all, welcome to a very festive introduction.

So sing along, enjoy, and prepare for a theatrically topsy turvy Monday!
